Adidas Spezial SS17

In [ALL POSTS], [THE CULTURE] by Stephen Zanatta

The latest collection from Adidas takes influence from both British casual culture and Jamaican reggae culture. Two cultures which, at first glance, seem glaringly different but share a host of commonalities. Drawing similarities from the two into one vintage adidas silhouettes as well as on-trend apparel pieces.

From the vibrant streets of Kingston, Jamaica to Lancashire in the North West of England, the video explores all things Reggae and its roots in modern culture from football, fashion and music. Linked through a love of music, football and fashion, the two subcultures are paid tribute to in reinvented staples of modern menswear. Military inspired jackets, full tracksuits, knitted polos, iconic 3 stripe trainers and leisure shoes all play a part in nodding towards two distinct cultures, and highlighting their similarities rather than their differences.

For the footwear, the SPEZIAL collection includes the Atlanta SPZL, Jogger SPZL, the Brisbane SPZL leisure shoe, and the Garwen SPZL, each chosen for their cross-cultural appeal from the UK and Jamaica.

The Adidas SPEZIAL SS17 collection will be launching later this month.
